I Would Thank You Dearly

I would like you to meet Ellenor, a.k.a. Belle. She is the daughter of Kirsty, who is a wonderfully creative and funny girl that I have had the pleasure of "meeting" via Studio Calico. Belle is attempting to raise 5,000 pounds - that's over $9,000 for a trip to the US to see doctors. Check out the video and the website link below. Then try to tell me you aren't enamored with Belle. Help out how you can. It doesn't have to be a donation, but that would be great. Spread the word. Let's get Belle to the US!

And the winner is....

The winners name was going to be chosen by niece, Emily, but she cheats. OK...I lie. She just wasn't around when I needed her. I entered everybody's name into Random.org and Steph your name appeared on the top of the list. Please email me your address and I will get that box in the mail to you ASAP. My email address is nichoda at comcast dot net. Congratulations!
Thank you all for coming to check out my blog and your kind comments. This has been fun. In fact, I will have to do it again next month. Same place, different stuff. If you can, stop by again.

Lots of Boxed Goodness

I love shopping on Etsy. I can always find unique things that I just gotta have, like rubber stamps, charms and other people's masterpieces. I happened upon Leslie and A Little Goodness a couple of weeks ago. She had these wonderful rubber stamp alphabet sets, fabric and ribbon tapes. I ordered immediately. The box arrived yesterday and I have to say it was a great presentation. When I opened the box flap there was all the goodnes I had ordered and extra surprises, too. I love that! This is what I found upon opening the box:

One of the things I love about the stamp sets is that they are in little wooden boxes. I love boxes and storage containers. It's a downfall of mine that sometimes results in very odd purchases just because I like the container.

I really like the type and the sizes of all the stamps.

And, of course, let's not forget the ribbon tape. From top to bottom there is fruit, robots, red lines, clothes line and the black was an extra and I'm not sure what the name is, but I love it.

All in all, I could be more happier. I cannot wait to break out these stamps and use them.

The Big Jump

My nephew, Nick, has turned into a dare devil. The hill was almost like glass - pure ice. The homemade jump was not sloped, but more of a two foot mountain. The first time he went over it I was standing off to the side and saw him fly four feet into the air, separate from his sled and then land on the hard packed snow with a thump. I thought his face had slammed against the ground, but that was just the angle. He jumped up and excitedly yelled COOL. Not so cool for me. I was scared to death. He then started to dare his friends to try it out. I hoped they wouldn't. None would at first. He went off again. Flew high in the air again. Landed hard again. This time he quietly walked over to me and asked if I had seen him fly? Yes, Nick, I did. I'm done, he then said. I was relieved.

Catch Up - Post One

Doesn't everybody need a blog for their scrapbooking layouts? I didn't think so until recently. It makes it a lot easier to share. Rather than sending emails full of photos, I can now email a link. It's all about simplicity, which is also my style of scrapping. However, that has been evolving lately and I will give the credit to the talented members of Studio Calico.
Studio Calico is the first "kit club" I have ever subscribed to and I have been thrilled. Check out the sneak peeks for February and then ask yourself - how can I pass that up? You can't. Pre-orders for February are no longer available, so you have to be there at midnight (eastern time) of the 28th. That's not such a hardship. The boards will be full of chit chat hilarity, so you may want to check in earlier than midnight (eastern) or how about a few days before and get to know everone.
This is a catch up gallery posting. Here are a few of my recent layouts:

Thanks for stopping by and looking.
