Day 21 of the December Daily, which is feeling like it is a life time project. OK...enough whining. The length of time is all self-imposed. If I hadn't spent so much time inserting brads into this layout, I would be on day 30. I just felt the unavoidable urge to rid myself of glitter brads. Would have achieved that goal if I had gone with a 10 x 10 book instead of the 8 x 8, but what can I do about that now.
In the World of
BASB, after a few weeks off during the holidays the new challenge is now posted.
Liz, who always puts together the most amazing projects, is the host of this challenge and has come up with an awesome one. She wants everyone to go green. Re-purpose an item into a project. I couldn't wait to play along. Here's what I came up with:
I guess I took going green to the ultimate. Ate green and then recycled. I should get extra credit for that, don't you think? Anyway...from a can of green beans to..................
a gift card holder. I used the Cropadile to punch the holes into the aluminum can for the eyelets. Worked perfectly, but I was willing to risk my Cropadile's life. Since I was on a roll with my little gadget, I dug through the recycling and found a soup can and went to work covering the can with paper and pretties and then punching lots of holes.
Look, Ma, by day it's a pencil holder and by night a luminary. If I hadn't developed carpal tunnel with all that punching, I could have kept on converting soup cans to luminaries and lit up the entire street and not just my table. Here's a bad luminary photo. Just a safety note...with using paper I probably would use one of those fake battery tealight candles. I think throughout the year I will slowly make more of these. Next December I will line my sidewalk and driveway with them and impress the neighbors. They live for my antics. Not really.
I think that is enough about me. Stop by the BASB blog and take a look at the photos of the Liz's projects. Here's a link:
GO GREEN Challenge. Oh and there's an awesome prize. Play along and you could win this:
Deadline is January 14. Plenty of time to save a little part of your spot on the earth.

Your creativity continues to amaze me. I love the "green bean" recycle. and I love the December Daily page with the glitter brads. don't tell anyone, I just tossed a bunch cause I was tired of "reorganizing" them.
great post today! That page is awesome! Brads look like candy don't they? I still contend you are the queen of working brads/eyelets. You are farther than me on the daily. We need (no I need) another challenge day. I've been skipping around all over mine.
Great recycle idea. I have a few of those battery tea lights and they flicker.
Okay, girl you rocked the hell out of Liz's challenge! I'm so proud of you for completing the Dec Daily, I fell off big time! LOL I seriously have a problem with committments. Trying to do better in the new year.
How clever are you? That looks awesome!
You should get extra credit, yours is the greenest! Hang in there with the album, it's turning out really well!
Love your can of light. Can you make me some? You can work on them all year and give them to me next Christmas. I could of really used those last month when we lost power in the ice storm. Tee hee! Love your December daily too. It rocks!! :-)
